DEE-A-TEE-E: (Thursday, May 27, 2010!)
had quite an interesting time at st. luke's with monica yesterday ... ;D
- happy brithday monica!
- chitchatted along the way
- it was kinda last minute, so the people there weren't really notified that we were coming so they kinda didn't have things for us to do at first
- but later katherine allocated us this two shelves of patient files, and we were supposed to look through them and pick out those without certain forms, and call up the next of kins of those patients to ask them to fill up the forms...
- was kinda scary at first cus we haven't done anything like this before! and some of them, they've come down to do admin stuff for quite a few times already, so they'd be annoyed to come down again. And indeed, the first lady i called, she was kinda mad and kept on shouting 'what forms?! what for?! for what?!' etc etc.
- quite a few other funny things happened too... there was once we called and asked, 'is this Ms ___'? and the person was like 'i am the son -_- '
- and and and... one other guy we called, and turns out that... the patient had passed away already :O :O
- hmm really interesting experience.
- the staff at st. luke's are really approachable and friendly! C:
- oh they've got this paper pinned up on their notice board about new internal rules and regulations. monica saw it when we were done with the files and were taking a break. she pointed out the section under 'toilet breaks' and it read :

Toilet breaks
1. It is noted that employees are taking too long toilet breaks. Toilet breaks are now limited to three minutes. At the end of three minutes, the toilet roll will retract, the cubicle door will open, and your picture will be taken
2. Repeat offenders will have their picture posted on the 'chronic offenders' notice board.
3. Anyone caught smiling in the photo will be referred to the institute of mental health.
it was so funny we kept laughing and laughing! For a moment I thought they seriously implemented this rule, until i read the other sections, then we decided that it was just a joke. There were other sections like lunch breaks, attire and compassionate leaves. I took a photo of that sheet with my phone camera, but i left my phone and keys and bus card etc etc with my mum -_- and she's off to work now -_-
