DEE-A-TEE-E: (Thursday, September 06, 2007!)
yesterday was class party, so i came home pretty late and didnt have time to blog. so now, here it is about yesterday!:
well in the morning we were supposed to go cycling@east coast. BUT last minute something had to pop up in the morning and i couldnt go! :'( however, in the afternoon, i got a call from siying asking me to go jurong entertainment center! (: yea so i went. just a few seonds after i stepped into that building i heard si ying and tricia calling me from upstairs. they dragged me and raaaaaaaaaaaan to the neoprint machines. so we took a neoprints as a class (ok...it is not a class at all, considering that there were only 8 people, plus mr tang)
then the decorating part. wei jin very random, put all the random stuff in our neoprints (fish, car, etc). and tricia is totally in love with sparkles! ;)
next we went to play those (
ripoff) soft toy catching machines, or what they call easy-to-play (yea right) UFO catcher. there was this screen showing really 'helpful' tips on how to get a stuff toy. this blonde acting in the video was so fascinated at how the soft toy can be gotten. then everyone was mimicking (sp) the blonde ["WOW!!! THAT IS AMAAAAAAZING!"]. FUNNY!
tricia wanted this really fat and huge hamster stuff toy in one of the UFO catchers. she was so obsessed with it that she was standing in front of the machine and staaaaaaaring at it for a veryveryvery long time.
tricia: (staring at hamster behind the plastic panels)
si ying: you are wasting your time staring at that hamster
tricis: no...! i am not wasting my time, i am
spending my time staring at it.

we tried those soft toy catchers a few times. but we didnt get any. none at all!): now i cant believe how adeline actually got her soft toy at the machine at the first try the other day when me, sy and adeline were at the bowling center. and oh yea! there was this particular machine that is $1 for
two tries, while others are all 1 for 1. so, people always forget their second try, and si ying, after they leave, will go and take over their second try. WAHAHA. cunning little baby. :D
Mr tang treated all of us to ice-cream! :D siying wanted mcflurry, and so i also wanted mcflurry, and so tricia also wanted mcflurry. (ripoff, whooops!) after the ice-cream treat, some people left, while me, sy, tricia, wj, tpl, jb, bryce, rion and timo stayed for dinner. me and si ying bought
roasted duck noodle (see adeline, how supportive of you, we even think of you when you're away!^^ )
bryce and rion started arm wrestling. again. right after the day the news came out, saying:guy in taiwan broke his arm while arm wrestling.
after dinner, we went back to those UFO catchers. weijin wanted this huge fish in one of the machines. there were two of those fishes, placed side by side. after a few trys, still couldnt get it. then smart smart tpl suggested to make the claw thing which was supposed to grab the toy in the middle of the two fishes. then when the claw opens up, it would push the fish nearer into the 'hole' into the hole.
but.
in the end, the claw thing opened up
before going down, and each 'finger' landed on top of each fish. and. it couldnt move down any furthur, since it is stuck in midair. so, the machine started to go "beep. beep. beep. beep. beep. beep beep..." omgosh it was so funny! as tpl had said, paying two dollars to wreck a machine! -__- ahahah :D i took a video of it. too bad cant upload! ): we spoiled their machine, yet we got a refund. haha. but come to think of it, it was not our fault that the claw thing got stuck (aft the person 'unstuck' it, it still couldnt work properly), cus we didnt do anything wrong! hehs
so thats about it.
today!
today tricia, me, sy and germ went to SPCA again. we were supposed to meet at paya lebar (sp?) at 9.30. tricia was going there straight, and germ was late. so, me and si ying went to SPCA first. or rather, tried to go spca first. there were buses, but we didnt know where to alight. :P in the end, we took a cab, and the taxi driver didnt know where SPCA was. so, he called up another person to ask, and then got us there anyway.
we went to see poh chu (our spca mentor) to do all the project stuff. then apparantly, the money in the list of expenditures and the money totaled up in the receipt didnt tally. then siying started to get very frustrated. germ went to help and si ying gave her something to do. so, me and tricia were unoccupied and wanted to help cus they were still very frustrated.
so we went "do you need help, can we help?"
and siying said "yes, i need help. but you cant help."
):so, a nice nice volunteer at SPCA, seeing that me and tricia got nothing to do, gave us lots (i really mean it. LOTS) of greeting cards. we were to
1) cancel the price tag
2) open each individual packaging
3) take out the card
4) cut out the "happy new year of the dog" portion of the card. (apparantly, those cards were left over from the sales of cards last year, and they want to give them out for free now so as to not waste them)
5) put the card back in
6) tape the packaging back up
7) sort them up into groups of three
8) sort each group of three into groups of 10
me and tricia started doing. when we're bored, this kind of stuff actually seems quite fun! well, better than looking at two people busying over stuff yet cannot help.
after si ying and germ got their stuff done, they came to do our stuff too. and we did that all the way till hm. till 2+ i think. we were all hungry, so we went for lunch at long john's. germ didnt come, only three of us stayed.
after eating, me and si ying went to get a gift for weijin's birthday. it sort of turned into a mini shopping trip for sy, tricia and me. :D
anyway, we got something (at last) and went home
